Fordsburg.Com is an innovative web portal designed with a multi function purpose to serve as a community hub as well as to showcase businesses and services in the area. It aims to deliver a portal that is truly reflective of the local community needs through the representation of various stakeholders in the area. This includes local businesses, residents, local councillors and community based organisations as well as other non profit organisations active in the Fordsburg vicinity. As such Fordsburg.Com will endeavour to be the voice of the community as well as the virtual market place where businesses can advertise their wares to prospective customers.   Furthermore, Fordsburg.Com  seeks to be the foremost repository of historical content on the chronological development of Fordsburg. In addition, Fordsburg.Com will also attain a competitive edge by offering services such as website development and e-commerce for the surrounding businesses in the area.

Its mission is thus to provide an online platform, whereby users can find or exchange information, services and ideas and engage on matters pertinent to the residents of Fordsburg and it surrounds and to further enable businesses to attain an online presence. The company’s management boasts a highly experienced CEO, Mohammed Khota, who is also the director of a company called Compumark, from which the seed investment capital for Fordsburg.Com has been derived and which further houses the operations of Fordsburg.Com. It’s locale is ideally suited to the work of Fordsburg.Com as it is situated in the heart of Fordsburg allowing for both an off line and online presence in the Fordsburg community.
But back to the man who’s made it happen..... Mohamed Khota

Whilst not a resident of Fordsburg, Mohamed was clearly intrigued by the magic of Fordsburg during his weekend jaunts for an artery clogging  ‘special’ to Solly’s Corner, or a dabble in the bargain hunters paradise - the Grand Bazaar of Oriental Plaza-  or even just watching the passing parade whilst hanging out on ‘the frontline’- Fordsburg’s epithet for Central rd. Certainly, Fordsburg’s allure did not escape him and it was this nurtured fascination with ‘little India’ coupled with a prescient eye for a sound investment which propelled him to register the domain name Fordsburg.Com in 2002. Unable to commence serious development on the site at the time, due to the launch of Compumark which demanded his exclusive attention and energy, Mohamed deferred the Fordsburg.Com project until he could secure a fully fledged team, a prerequisite, he believed, vital to ensuring any measure of success of the site.
Mohammed’s insightful assessment of his (predominantly Fordsburg) clients sporadic uptake of broadband in 2007, reignited his focus on the Fordsburg.Com project as a viable commercial endeavour. It was a fortuitous encounter with Naseem Mayet, a dynamic energetic marketting guru which spurred Mohamed on to recommit to the project.

	Managing the Sales and Marketting division of Fordsburg.Com is natural fit for Naseem who is well acquainted with the commercial hub of Fordsburg and a familiar figure at all local sporting events. No stranger to the web and its innovations, Naseem has developed and hosts the successful Swoosh0018.Com , a sports blog that was initiated to serve as a forum for Naseem’s  close friends and his sport frenzied audience.  The blog has since grown as a brand and diversified in readership which has enabled Naseem to successfully launch a Charity Foundation aimed at assisting those in anybody in dire need. Naseem is a qualified BCom Graduate from Wits University with majors in Information Systems and Marketing. He is also a qualified Graphic & Web Designer. His interest in Fordsburg has been nurtured from his toddler days in his dads business ,Wits Underwear Distributors. Fordsburg is home.
	New to the team is our resident techie expert who heads the Technical Development Division, Sajied Khan. Sajid has has just recently graced our shores all the way from Pakistan and is already thriving on Joburg's infectious energy.Sajied has a MSCS (Master in Science and Computer Sciences) and  is proficient in Java, SQL,  web development and server site programming (ASP) languages.
